E Jean Carroll to spend over $83 million defamation money on something Donald Trump hates

Donald Trump is convicted guilty of sexually abusing E Jean Carroll in 1990s

E Jean Carroll claims she will use a portion of the $83.3 million (£65 million) she obtained in her defamation lawsuit against former US president Donald Trump for something he detests.

She claimed that although she had been "terrified" to appear before Trump in court, her nervousness subsided as soon as she saw him, according to BBC.

Before the trial, a court declared that Trump had defamed her by calling the allegation of sexual assault against him untrue.

He was convicted guilty of sexually abusing Carroll in the 1990s last year. Jurors denied her allegation of rape.

Trump has said that he will file an appeal, referring to the case's decision as "absolutely ridiculous".

Carroll, 80, told ABC News on Monday: "I'd like to give the money to something Donald Trump hates."

"If it will cause him pain for me to give money to certain things, that's my intent."

The former magazine columnist suggested the money could be used to set up a "fund for the women who have been sexually assaulted by Donald Trump".

The former president has been accused of sexual assault, harassment, and rape by numerous women going back to the 1970s. He refutes any misconduct.

In the 1990s, Carroll claimed that Trump had pushed himself on her when she was in a changing room at the exclusive Bergdorf Goodman department shop in Manhattan.

In the weeks preceding the trial, the writer, who conducted the interview on Monday while sitting next to her attorney, Roberta Kaplan, claimed she had trouble eating or sleeping.
