Indian Navy's warship INS Sumitra has successfully rescued fishing vessel Iman hijacked by pirates off the east coast of Somalia and Gulf of Aden. An Iranian-flagged fishing vessel was reportedly attacked by pirates. Immediately, Indian Navy's warship INS Sumitra stationed in the area went to the spot.

Indian security forces have asked the bandits to move towards Somalia. Helicopters aboard INS Sumitra surrounded the hijacked vessel. A warning was given to the pirates in the fishing vessel. Later, the pirates who hijacked the fishing vessel fled.

Drone attack on US military base...Iran denied..!

17 people including the crew were rescued from the fishing vessel. In parts of the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, there has been a series of drone and pirate attacks on merchant ships. As a result, the Indian Navy has stepped up surveillance in tense areas and has deployed around 10 warships to counter attacks.

Iran-backed Yemen's Houthi rebels have been targeting merchant shipping in the Red Sea with missiles and drones since the Israel-Hamas conflict began on October 7. Houthi rebels declared their support for Hamas. Following these attacks, many shipping companies stopped plying through the Red Sea.
