Saudi football club Al-Nassr's star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been missing consecutive training sessions as he's undergoing rehabilitation owing to his injury.
Ronaldo has missed eight team training sessions as he has been spending time in the medical hall undergoing treatment, reported sportskeeda.
Earlier, the Portuguese footballer had announced his unavailability for Al-Nassr's matches in China after suffering a muscle injury — a development that eventually led to the cancellation of the Saudi club's tour to China.
Earlier, in a statement, the star footballer expressed his sadness over his inability to feature in matches scheduled in China.
"I have played 22 years in football and I am a player that doesn’t have too many injuries.
"So I'm really sad because Al-Nassr and myself have come to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004, so I feel at home here – my second home," he said.
Ronaldo's injury might sideline Ronaldo for a couple of weeks, potentially affecting his participation in the Riyadh Cup against Inter Miami, where he could miss a reunion with long-time rival Lionel Messi.
Al-Nassr, amidst their mid-season break, is adjusting their plans and aims to face Messi's Inter Miami on February 1, followed by a clash with Al-Hilal a week later, and a return to competitive action in the AFC Champions League against Al Feiha on February 14.
