Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rohan Bopanna who won the Australian Open tennis men's doubles final. The Australian Open, the first 'Grand Slam' tournament of the year, is being held in Melbourne.

In the men's doubles finals, India's Rohan Bopanna and Australia's Matthew Epton pair clashed with Italy's Simon Polelli and Andrea Vavasuri, and Bopanna's pair won 7-6 (7-0), 7-5 sets and won the champion title. 43-year-old Bopanna has won a Grand Slam title for the first time in doubles.

Following this, PM Modi congratulated Bopanna in a post on his official 'X' page, saying, "Bopanna, who is extremely talented, has once again proved that age is not a barrier to achievement. Congratulations to him for his historic Australian Open win.
