U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung said that Sri Lanka's economic development will be affected by overly restrictive and unclear laws. He also warned that they will affect investments and digital economic development.
He has posted this on the social media regarding the Internet security law passed in Parliament.
US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Sung said that the amendment threatens freedom of expression, innovation and privacy and does not address key issues raised by mainstream parties including civil society and technology companies.
