Donald Trump skipped running in primary and instead will be running in Nevada caucuses.

Presidential candidate Nikki Haley faced an embarrassing defeat in Nevada's Republican primary on Tuesday, with the Silver State voters selecting "none of the candidates" on the ballot paper, Fox News reported.

Voters in Nevada had the option to either support a particular candidate or select "none of the candidates."

A Democratic primary also took place on Tuesday, which United States' President Joe Biden easily won with a clear majority. This is his third consecutive win after New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Former president, Donald Trump, omitted running in the primary and instead will be running in the Nevada caucuses on Thursday. Nikki Haley, the only remaining contender against Trump, lost the primary in an embarrassing defeat.

According to her campaign manager, Betsy Ankney, Haley did not focus her attention on Nevada, even though her name was on the ballot.

"In terms of Nevada, we have not spent a dime nor an ounce of energy on Nevada," Ankney told reporters. "So Nevada is not and has never been our focus."

As the vote count continued, the former president took to his Truth Social network to take a dig at Haley.

"A bad night for Nikki Haley. Losing by almost 30 points in Nevada to "None of These Candidates." Watch, she’ll soon claim victory!" he argued.

Both the Republican candidates are set to face off in the next major contest in the state of South Carolina on February 24.
