Visakhapatnam: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is out of the second Test between India and England due to injury, is said to be joining the team for the third Test. But, it is said that it is not true.
Ravindra Jadeja suffered a leg cramp in the first match of the England Test series. After Jadeja said he was in a lot of pain due to a muscle spasm, the BCCI has revealed that he will need four to five weeks to recover. However, the news leaked that Jadeja was being dropped from the second Test only without saying it openly.
Ravindra Jadeja is currently attending the National Cricket Academy. He is being treated there. Why should BCCI hide the fact that Jadeja cannot return to the team immediately? It is said that there may be a problem with advertising revenue in the background.
Test matches are generally not watched by fans on television and mobile. That too, it is difficult to generate advertising revenue with matches without star players like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami. Even if the advertising deal is already in place, if the viewership drops now, the advertising revenue for the next series will take a huge hit.
Mohammed Shami was absent from the entire series. Virat Kohli did not feature in the first two Tests. KL Rahul was ruled out of the second Test due to injury. In this situation, if the news spreads that Ravindra Jadeja's participation in this Test series is doubtful, the number of viewers will decrease drastically.
The main reason for that would be the idea that India would not win anyway. Therefore, BCCI is hiding the information that Jadeja will return to the team only in the fourth Test to show that India has enough players in the team to win the Test series.
