Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been leading the war against the Palestinian armed faction Hamas, unveiled a post-war plan that includes ‘demilitarization of the Gaza Strip’ and ‘blockade of the border with Egypt.’
According to CNN on the 23rd (local time), Prime Minister Netanyahu distributed a post-war plan document to members of the Israeli Security Cabinet the day before. The document sets out the principles that Israel must adhere to on a variety of issues, from how to reorganize the Gaza Strip's administrative apparatus and education system after the end of the war with Hamas to who should govern the Gaza Strip.
In this document, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Israel completely rejects international demands regarding a permanent agreement with Palestine,” and argued that recognizing Palestine as an independent state would “give enormous compensation to unprecedented acts of terrorism.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu then stated in this document, “Israel will have security control over the entire area west of Jordan.” It is an argument that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the West Bank and Gaza Strip as its territory will not be tolerated.
The document also states that Israel is responsible for realizing and supervising the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and that Israel will have jurisdiction over the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
In addition, Prime Minister Netanyahu's post-war plan also includes a plan to exclude foreign influence on the civilian administrative body that will govern the Gaza Strip and to revise the existing education system that teaches people to hate and polarize Israelis.
