Nikki Haley makes surprising 'SNL' cameo

Haley questioned cast member portraying her Donald Trump in series of pointed questions.

In an unexpected and humorous cameo on "Saturday Night Live," Nikki Haley questioned a cast member portraying her Republican opponent Donald Trump in a series of pointed questions, CNBC reported.

Following her performance, Haley tweeted, "Had a blast tonight on SNL."

"I know it was past Donald’s bedtime, so I'm looking forward to the stream of unhinged tweets in the morning."

During the first spoof, which portrayed a fictitious CNN town hall where "Trump," portrayed by James Austin Johnson, was answering questions from the audience, Haley made her appearance.

"Why won't you debate Nikki Haley? is my question," Haley asked Trump.

"Trump" exclaimed, "Oh, my god, it’s her! The woman who was in charge of security on January 6. It’s Nancy Pelosi!"

She further said, "Are you doing OK, Donald? You might need a mental competency test."

In response, he replied, "They told me I’m 100% mental, and I’m competent because I’m a man."

He added that women "should never run our economy. Women are terrible with money."

"A woman I know recently asked me for $83 million," he said, referencing the amount of monetary damages a New York civil jury recently awarded writer E. Jean Carroll for the real Trump defaming her after she alleged he had raped her.

Haley cracked, "And you spent $50 million in your legal fees. Do you need to borrow some money?"

After the skit, a beaming Haley repeated the catchphrase of the NBC programme, "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!" This came directly after the show's guest host, actor Ayo Edeberi, made a scathing joke about Haley's recently publically embarrassing response to the question of what caused the Civil War.

Haley's appearance on "Saturday Night Live" received mixed views from people; while many appreciated it for its humour, others called out the show for no other opponent’s equal screen space.
