Tesla recalls almost all models sold in the US

Safety warning lights on the instrument panel are too small to be seen and may increase the risk of collision.

Tesla has begun recalling almost all Tesla vehicles sold in the U.S. because some warning lights on the instrument panel are too small to read.

The U.S. safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on the 2nd that the recall will be carried out through online software updates, for 2012 to 2023 Model S, 2016 to 2023 Model X, 2017 to 2023 Model 3, and 2019 to 2024 Model Y. and 2024 Cybertrucks are subject to recall.

NHTSA said the font size for brake, parking and anti-lock brake warning lights is smaller than required by federal safety standards, which can make important safety information difficult to read and increase the risk of a crash...

Tesla has already started rolling out the software update and will notify owners by text starting March 30th.

NHTSA said it discovered the problems Jan. 8 during a routine safety compliance audit.

Tesla said it had identified three warranty claims possibly related to the issue, but that there had been no reports of crashes or injuries.
