The participants of the study said their mode improved after interacting with the dog

Dogs are amazing creature a special talent that can help you feel better.

A group of researchers in South Korea discovered that spending time with dogs can actually help you feel more relaxed and focused.

For their study, published in Plos One, they recruited at least 30 grown-ups, and measured their brainwaves via electrode headsets, while they hung out with a friendly poodle named Aro.

The participants of the study included Tom, who said, "It was awesome hanging out with Aro!"

These participants did all sorts of fun stuff with Aro, like walking, playing, and hugging, each for three minutes. Each activity lasted just three minutes, but it made a big difference. When they played with Aro and her squeaky toy, their brains showed waves that meant they were feeling super relaxed. Even just walking Aro in the park made their brains feel happy.

Then there was brushing and giving Aro a massage. That made their brains show waves that meant they were focusing really well. After all these activities, everyone said they felt less stressed and happier. Sarah, one of the participants, said, "I felt like all my worries just melted away."

The researchers said that doing stuff with dogs can help you feel more relaxed, focused, and even creative. The participants said their mode improved after interacting with Aro.

“This study demonstrated that specific dog activities could activate stronger relaxation, emotional stability, attention, concentration and creativity by facilitating increased brain activity,” the authors of the study said.

And guess what?

This is not the first time scientists found out that hanging out with dogs is great for your mental health.

A 2022 study published in the International Journal of Psychophysiology found that being around animals for just 20 minutes can make you feel less stressed and more loved.

Moreover, if you are over 45 and you have a dog, you are less likely to get dementia.

So, spending time with dogs isn't just fun – it's like medicine for your brain and your heart!
